Månedens GJENBRUKS TIPS / REUSE-TIP of the month

We should reuse more often, especially things that just lies around the house and we look at as waist. We should more often look at things in a different way, and challenge us selves to go in other direction that we usually do. I love to use things that are not typical to cardmaking, and in this article me and our team want to give you ideas on different things that you can use!

I challenged the team to use something that they found in their kitchen. And, they came up with some amazing results, and fun ideas on what to use...

Reuse from the kitchen are the core of a toiletpaper-roll and cling-it
plastic wrap to create the background on both pieces.
Background creted with acrylic paints, plastic wrap and brayer.

Maybe you can't call it reuse, but kitchen paper is awesome as background texture and a fun way to make a background. I have used multi-medium to glue it down and Distress Paint to color it.
Stamps are from Kreativ Hobby and Stampotique.

I have made a card using an altered "diaper fold". The gears have been cut out of a Balsamico vinegar box.

The seaweeds are made of a plastic box, that came with a box of salad leaves. I have seen  branches being made of shrink plastic and coloured with alcohol ink. I wanted to find out if plastic, that I normally throw away - also can be used as Shrink plastic - and some of it can! I cut out the seaweeds with scissors, used the hot air gun to shrink it, and coloured it with alcohol ink.

The mast and sails is a tag, which can be taken out - and has room for a message on the back side.

I have made a vintage card.  The corrugated cardboard came in the box with some new plates we just bought. I have also punched doilies out of coffee filters.

The vintage girl and the text inside the card is from a napkin. I took of the thin patterned side of the serviette, lay it on a piece of card stock (250g) with a thin layer of food plastic film between the serviette and the card stock. Then I added a thin layer of cotton to the top of the serviette and ironed the layers.

My altered books have been on a hold but I've started working on them again which makes me glad. Normally I write in Swedish but the theme of this book is quotes in English together with pictures from magazines from the 40's.

I've used plastic foil for my background in two different ways. I scrunched it and stippled with it and I put it, still scrunched on a thick layer of gel medium and let it dry. It gives my background a great texture.

Metallhjertet er fra Kort og Godt.

I have used a muffin form behind the subject.
First I sprayed it with Dylusions,
then I used a corner punch around the edge of it.
The tape around the image and on  the sides is freezing tape .. ;)
Metal Heart is from Kort og Godt.

I have created a card from a paperbag. The window is a gelatin piece. The flower and the ribbon is made out  of a coffe filter.

I have taken a manilla tag in size 8, smeared it with mod podge and curled a papercloth from my kitchen on it.. Further on I have misted with different kinds of mists, added some crackle paint and paintet a little bit with Maya Gold.. The dragon is from Korthobby.

Utmaningen var att använda något från köket...

The challenge was to use something from the kitchen....

I found some empty packaging...(I must admit the bag of potato chips
wasn't empty when I found it.) Napkins, coffee filters, a ziplock bag and drinking
straws....

I made a cover of the empty cookie box, dividers and tabs of the cereal box.
And I cut a lot of flowers... of the foil bag, some foil "thingies" and a juice carton.
I cut a few leaves from the plastic bag.
struktur.

I glued the napkins on the covers and the dividers using Decoart Textured
Glass.

Different colours on all the parts, I finished them with a few color washes
of brown and some dry brushing.
decoupage lim.

I stamped a few different stamps on a napkin and glued the to the covers using
 decoupage glue.
design.

And here is the finished thing. A journal. A on the back for Angelica.
The lady on the front is a Mary Vogel Lozinak design.

Metallic flowers and plastic leaves coloured with Alco Inks.

Paper Clips holds the papers on the front cover, a ring binder so you
can file your notes.....

Use your imagination and reuse things that's not usually used in this crafting,
this is our goal this time! Good luck!
